"Seek first to understand than to be understood" a quote from The 7 Habits of Successful People which is one I can relate to. Reading has always been a passion of mine for the purpose of learning more. We are always in a state of becoming, so we've got to keep learning!

I've collated some books I recommend below, in no particular order!

The Go-Giver
by Bob Burg and John David Mann
Recommended to me by my daughter-in-law Joanne this is a powerful book that explores the concept of achieving success through giving. The lead character Joe learns about the five laws of success through a facinating journey with his mentor. It highlights the transformative power of generosity and compassion in both business and life.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
Through his timeless principles including being proactive, beginning with the end in mind and seeking win-win solutions, this book offers a roadmap for anyone looking to make postiive changes in their lives. I found this truely insightful and recommed that everynoe should read it.
Haughey by Gary Murphy
As one of Ireland's most controversial and influential political figures "Haughey" is a biography worth reading. Read about his rise to power, his political schemes, and the scandals that surrounded his tenure as Taoiseach. I recommend this book as it sheds light on the intricacies of Irish politics during the latter half of the 20th century and a figure who left an indelible mark on our nation's history.
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle
I recommend this book as it is a profound spiritual guide that took me on a transformative journey toward awakening and enlightenment. It explores the concept of ego and its detrimental effects on human consciousness, and emphasizes the importance of having an awareness of the present moment. I found it to be a truely inspirational read.
The Best is Yet to Come
by Marc Coleman
Marc
Breakfast with Anglo
By Simon Kelly
In 2009 following the Irish property market crash, my son Simon and I were among the first major developers to acknowledge our financial collapse and urged others to face the reality. In a public apology published in 2010, Simon Kelly took responsibility for his role in the long-term damage caused by the property bubble and tells his story in this memoir. He challenges the narrative put forward by insiders and offers a critical examination of the events that lead to the nation's economic downfall. Overall a call to action for finding solutions to navigate through it.
High Performance Habits
by Brendan Burchard
Another great book on the subject of positive habits. In this book 6 key habits are identified distinguishing high performers from the rest: clarity, energy, necessity, productivity, influence, and courage. I find these principles and tools to be the way to unlock your full potential and lead a life of excellence in both work and general personal growth.

Wealth Creation
by Warren Buffett
I have a great admiration for Warren Buffett and through this book we can all learn the principles of one of the most successful investors of all time. Buffett's philosophy is grounded in simplicity and caution. He advocates for patience, discipline, and the importance of continuous learning. I highly recommend this book amoung other stufies of Warren Buffett and what he has to teach us.
The Myth of Normal
by Gabor Mate
This book explores the relationship between society, psychology and human behavior, challenging conventional notions of what it means to be "normal." Drawing on his experience as a physician and addiction expert, Maté explores the roots of human suffering, drawing attention to the impact of childhood trauma, amoung other elements effecting our mental health. I find him facinating.
