My Contribution
In this phase between the ages of 30 and 70 - life expands across one's career, the
intricate dance of family life, travel and life experiences.
Overview
On moving to Dublin in 1967 our first purchase was building land in Celbridge. This phase began the expansion of our horizons into larger projects in which many new partners joined and many new companies were formed as vehicles for specific projects.

I began working between the UK and Ireland and began my move into more diverse projects, eventually expanding my interests further afield into the US and Europe. We worked with partners on all our projects, thus bringing resources, skillsets and reducing risk.

In Ireland the IDA were having success in attracting foreign direct investment. The country was taking it’s first steps to becoming the 51st state of America and it needed quality commercial accommodation. We were in the right place at the right time in the cycle.

Our developments in Sandyford, Tallaght, Belfield Office Park, Burlington Road Plaza, the 3 Building etc. were developed to house top tier international companies in tech, media and finance sectors.

Redquartz was formed in 1990 and it has represented the Kelly family investments over the past decades.

By 2007, I had been involved in the development of:
-
3,000,000+ sq.ft or commercial development
-
5,000+ residential units
-
6,000+ hotel rooms
-
A Gross Asset Value in excess of €3,000,000,000
UK & Ireland
In the 1970’s and ‘80’s I divided my time between the UK and Dublin.
In the UK I partnered with Brian Kelly and Noel Kelly (no blood relations) and Gerard my brother we worked on residential projects in various locations throughout the UK including; London, Thorpe, Stroud, Newcastle.
From the late 80’s onward I increasingly moved my focus back to Dublin. I developed residential schemes in numbers of locations in partnership with a wide variety of partners including Brian Kelly, John Flynn, and my brothers Liam and Phil.
This was followed with a focus on the development of commercial, mixed use and hotels. Partners in these projects included the Flynns, Linders, McCormack’s family and numerous others.
Over the decades I have had the joy of working with some great professionals including; architects Tony Horan, Jerry Ryan, Martin Jones, Jack Kirwan, solicitor, and numerous others.

Overall there are two key elements made up my focus during these years. Both my career and my family.
